JERUSALEM (VINnews)— Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday called on Western governments to take decisive steps to fight rising antisemitism and ensure security for Jewish communities worldwide, warning that inaction allows hatred to spread.

“I demand that Western governments do what is necessary to fight anti-Semitism and provide the necessary security and protection for Jewish communities around the world,” Netanyahu said in a statement. “And they should listen to our warnings. I demand action from them — now.”
The prime minister’s remarks come amid heightened concerns over antisemitic incidents globally, including the recent massacre at Bondi Beach in Australia, Jewish institutions and individuals in several Western countries.
Netanyahu has previously criticized certain governments for policies he says fuel antisemitism, emphasizing that leaders must replace “weakness with action” to confront the threat.
Israeli officials have highlighted a surge in antisemitic acts since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, urging international partners to strengthen protections for diaspora Jewish populations.
The statement accentuates Israel’s ongoing efforts to advocate for Jewish safety abroad while combating what Netanyahu has described as a “cancer” that endangers not only Jews but broader societies.
