The unemployment rate rose to 4.6%, highest since 2021.
Both the October and November job creation numbers, released Tuesday by the Labor Department, came in late because of the 43-day federal government shutdown.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP’s earlier story follows below.
Look – you can dig your head in the sand and blame this on Obama and Biden, or you can admit that maybe, just maybe you were lied to when trump said he would fix the economy on day one. Its been nearly a year and every single economic metric is headed in the wrong way. Unemployment today is higher than on Biden’s last day. Inflation today is slightly higher than it was on Biden’s last day. Job losses this year are greater than under any of Biden’s four years. Where is the golden age booming economy you were promised on day 1?
Every November hiring increases. Stores ramp up for 2 months for XMAS shopping. Then all laid off end of January. Tariifs & deportations hurt the US economy.
Thanks Trump. You did that

These are false metrics, and evil ones too.
Please reconsider what we are going for.
