Catherine Almonte Da Costa stepped down after comments she made more than a decade ago came to light. The posts included antisemitic stereotypes, according to reports.
Da Costa issued an apology, saying she deeply regretted the remarks and acknowledged they were harmful. She said the comments do not reflect her current views and noted her personal connection to the Jewish community.
Mamdani accepted her resignation, saying the statements were unacceptable and emphasizing that there is no place for antisemitism in city government.
The resignation comes as Mamdani prepares to take office amid heightened sensitivity over antisemitism and public accountability in New York City.

His day will also come………hopefully soon…..
does “no room for antisemitism” mean that he’s leaving town?!
First Hashem humiliates them than they fall
Does he deserve any appreciation for firing her. I’m thrilled she’s out but when are we going to see consequences for right wing anti semites
