New York – An Editorial written in the New York Post today slams the lack of support for NY cops and police officers all over the U.S. after an officer was shot in the face in Queens over the weekend.

The article points out how no one will protest or block traffic in the streets of New York after 25-year-old Police Officer Brian Moore was ambushed Saturday night by alleged shooter, 35-year-old Demetrius Blackwell, an ex-con who has a violent past (http://bit.ly/1Jlp3CN).
Moore died Monday from his injuries. He is the fifth police officer in New York City shot since December 2014. He was on a detail targeting illegal guns in Queens Village.
“Sad to say, respect for cops — indeed, for safe streets in general — has ebbed in New York City of late,” states the article.
Referencing tight control by Police Commissioner William Bratton over recent anti-cop protests last week amid the violence in Baltimore, the Post article says the city is still inundated with gun violence and that “the men and women of the NYPD matter, too. They need the full, unqualified support of every New Yorker. Heaven knows they’ve earned it.”
Let’s see if those protests get shut down as quickly and aggressively.
Why no outcry for Ana Isabel Charle the manager of a homeless shelter in the Bronx, who was brutally kidnapped, apparently raped, and shot dead in the street by a former resident?
Wake up America: There is a war on police going on in America orchestrated from the white house.
no comment from Obama when a black guy MURDERS a white policeman ????????????? WHY ????????????
Where’s Sharpton? Where’s Kerry? Where’s Holder? Where’s the NEW AG? Where’s Baltimore’s Governor? Whetre’s Baltimores Mayor?
I am sorry if anyone gets offended but this guy and the people in Baltimore who rioted, looted and threw projectiles at the officers are a bunch of Thugs!!
And only when threats Emanate from the protests (like when blacks and Arabs rampage), does anyone cave in and reward the looting protesters for their criminal actions.
How many civilians have been killed by cops and hom many cops were killed by civilians. There’s your answer.
When cops will stop playing the with us or against us game, they would be supported. As long as it’s not about the cop killed, or the civilian killed, I can’t support this fallen cop, when it will be used to support the cops charged with murder.
If you want to spend your career enforcing drug laws most Americans do not like, parking in handicapped parking spaces and generally throwing your weight around, I suppose you can. If you want to do all these things and have people respect you, well that seems unlikely to happen.
The attack on the NYPD is not emanating from the White House, it is spews from Wilhelm DeBlasio…mayor. He built a career in slamming the police and they know it. What is shocking is that Uncle Tom Bratton still supports the disaster in City Hall.
Respect and support is a two-way street.
When cops remember that they exist to serve the community, and drop, from the top brass on down, their war on regular people, they will regain the respect they used to enjoy when they walked their beats and treated people with respect.
Stop treating people and communities – black, white, rich, poor – as statistics, and as enemies, and start treating them like people again.
