JERUSALEM (VINnews) — An unprecedented Bris took place in a car just 2 minutes before Shkiah [sunset[. The unusual event occurred last Monday when Rabbi Shlomo Machpoud, a famous Mohel from Bnei Brak, was caught in a huge traffic jam on his way to the Bris. After contacting the family, Rabbi Machpoud realized that the new mother and baby were also stuck in a traffic jam on their way to the simcha hall, arriving from a similar direction. The father, who was travelling in another car, had attempted to bypass traffic illegally and was caught by a police officer.

Time was running out as Shkiah, which is currently at 4:40 in Israel, was getting closer and closer. Rabbi Machpoud decided to rendezvous with the mother and baby, who were stuck near Ben Gurion airport. Reaching the woman’s car with just minutes left and with the father still delayed by police, Rabbi Machpoud hastily made the driver the Sandak, the back seat became Kiseh Shel Eliyahu and a bottle of water served instead of the traditional wine at the ceremony. The Bris took place just 2 minutes before Shkiah.
The family were gratified to have been able to perform the Bris before the Shkiah in accordance with Jewish tradition, despite the unusual circumstances.
Wow. R Machpud is something else. Big Tzadik.
A worthy lesson to learn is not to schedule a bris in the afternoon in the winter.
you do it in the morning early
