Albany, NY – Gov. David Paterson was one of more than 30 governors who received a letter from an extremist group demanding that they step down or be removed, a Paterson spokesman confirmed.

The FBI reportedly expects all 50 governors will eventually get letters from the Guardians of the Free Republic.
The missives are not considered threatening in and of themselves, but governors have been warned they could provoke violence.
Some states have beefed up security in response to the letters. It was not immediately clear if security around Paterson had been tightened.
Paterson spokesman Morgan Hook replied “no comment” when asked if additional measures had been taken to protect the governor.
This just adds to all that Paterson has been through in recent weeks – including multiple calls for him to resign in the face of twin ethics probes now being conducted by former Chief Judge Judith Kaye.
Removed could mean through the ballot box. I have no clue though who this group is, so I can’t comment on whether they’re extremist or not.
Removed means to leave NOW. Can he “see” his way out?
