Amman – Jordan’s King Abdullah accused Israel of trying to prevent his kingdom from developing a peaceful nuclear program, aimed at producing energy.

The king revealed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that Israel had approached South Korea and France with requests to refrain from selling Jordan nuclear technology. Israel’s “underhanded” actions are adding tension to already strained relations with Jordan, bringing ties between the two countries to their lowest point since they signed a peace agreement in 1994, the king said.
“There are countries, Israel in particular,” Abdullah told the Wall Street Journal, “that are more worried about us being economically independent than the issue of nuclear energy, and have been voicing their concerns.”
“There are many such reactors in the world and a lot more coming, so [the Israelis must] go mind their own business,” he added.
Abdullah- it seems to really annoy you that Israel (and other countries) are telling you what to do- it gets you under the skin. And yet your country and all the middle east have no problem breathing down Israel’s back and constantly telling Israel what they can and cannot do. It goes both ways…..
Where will the nuclear waste go? Into the Jordan River? What water will they have to drink, wash, bathe??
Is it me or is Israel a force to be reckoned with?
As long as EY maintains its own nuclear program (in secret) and refuses to become a member of the IEA, sign the NPT and open its facilities for international inspection, they have no political legitimacy to deny other countries the right to pursue their own programs where those countries (like Jordan) are not threatening to attack EY.
This is like opening a second front. It will divert full attention from Iran .
Israel SHOULD mind its business. And Muslim neighbors tinkering with nukes should be the #1 item on Israel’s business agenda.
Milhouse is absolutely correct.
Legal? Under which law? Which democratically elected goverment made these laws after due and open debate? Which police force enforces these laws? Which courts have jurisdiction over these “laws”?
Who carries out any sentence this hypothetical court might pass?
Just out of curiosity. When was the last open election in Jordan? And how many “Palestinians” has Jordan expelled since its foundation 62 years ago?
