A 31-year-old man was crossing 108th St. at 63rd Rd. in Corona about 10:30 p.m. when he was hit by a 2010 Nissan Rogue that sped away southbound, cops said.
The collision knocked the man into the northbound lanes, where he was struck by another car. That motorist remained at the scene, police said.
The pedestrian was rushed to New York Hospital Queens in Flushing but could not be saved. He was not immediately identified.
Police picked up 17-year-old Avraham Mullokandov at his house in Rego Park early Sunday morning. Investigators traced the vehicle to a nearby residence and arrested 17-year-old Avraham Mullokandov
He was arrested and charged with vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident and violating the terms of his restricted license, police said.
Part of the education of every Jewish child should be a trip to a courthouse and to be placed in the “bull-pen” in order to experience first hand what might be the consequences of breaking the law. Most normal “children” will then be more aware of where their actions may lead them—-AND their parents.
He’s a rodef.
Why can’t these Russians stay out of trouble? The problem is that once they come here, they don’t know what to do with all of that freedom. The old Soviet Union would have sent such law breakers to a labor camp?
this is why no one under age of 18 should be behind the wheel.
new laws should be passed and deter teens drive under age of 18.
There has been a number of incidents of frum drivers being careless. This is not the Jewish way! Torah teaches us to care about another persons life like our own. Let us star teaching our children the Torah way!
This differs greatly from some other stories reported recently. The driver left the scene, an absolute felony. Please do not lump all cases together.
Not seeing a pedestrian might cause an accident where the driver might ultimately be found at fault or not, leaving the scene is a pure crime in most cases.
People should NEVER leave the scene of an accident because when they are caught they will be worse off.
What difference does it make if the kid is Russian or Martian, off the derech or frum, Jewish or not?? The posters here always have to hypothesize – as if they are personally “in the know.” If you know the facts, fine, then comment. Otherwise keep your fictional accounts of the incident to yourself and the let the court system deal with the accused.
Any relation to avner mulakandov?
i think driving shoud be permitted at the same age as the draft. wait till 18
I experience first hand with bukarians so it’s not so far fetched for those who are saying there is a problem with them in particular but we also have to remember the incident in flatbush about two months ago when the girl was killed while in a car with an underaged driver they were pure American
you say dont let your kids drive before 18? Big joke. Kids can get their drivers license w/o their parents knowledge.
