Wurtsboro Fire Chief said when they arrived at the fire in a two-story detached garage on Sullivan Street the building was fully involved with flames. Phone service for some buildings in the area was interrupted because the intense heat melted lines near the building. Two cars, a motor home and the building were destroyed in the fire and there were no injuries. But the nearby synagogue was saved from the flames as firefighters from Wurtsboro and Bloomingburg poured water on the building to prevent the fire from spreading.
