St-Adolphe-d’Howard officials fear the $3.5-million acquisition of the Miramont Hotel by Hasidic investors could isolate the building from the town, they fear the hotel could be turned into a center for the Hasidic community.
Officials also fear the investors could repeat a scenario that occurred in the nearby town of Val-Morin.
Where members of the Hasidic community built a synagogue and school where Val-Morin’s zoning did not permit, and the municipality had to spent $100,000 in legal fees defending its urban plan in court.

Are you willing to “promise” that they will follow all the local bylaws, and obtain the correct licences?
It’s easy to claim that everything will be done according to the law, but doing so is a whole other story.
Take a look at all the other country areas they all had or have problems regarding Shuls.
What is this group of Chassidim (whatever group of Satmar that they belong to) going to do when they are told that it is illegal to take one of the existing rooms and turn it into a shul?
Don’t worry I don’t really expect an answer from you, as you simply are a spokesperson not an
“answer-person”.
OMG! Jews are moving in! there goes the neighborhood! They should sell it to the nation of Islam and make it a center for black muslims. that would be much better no doubt.
MONTREAL, June 26 /CNW Telbec/ – We are appalled to see the allegations that have been reported in the media, regarding the Hotel Miramont, in St-Adolphe-d’Howard. It has been reported that a group of investors, who happen to be Jewish, have purchased the Hotel, and they will not follow the city by-laws. This is completely false, and has no merit, any changes if there will be, will comply with all laws and local by-laws. The investors intend on renting the hotel for the Hassidic community in the summer and to keep the Hotel operations all year round the same as in the past.
A meeting has already been requested with the City officials to discuss all and any issues or concerns they might have, and a follow-up meeting with the neighbours will be held shortly thereafter.
is this satmer who bought the hotel?
They probably fear because of whats going on in Ste Agathe with Halbrantz’s cult group.
Dont fear the Pepsis will burn it down and claim we are not anti semitic!!
I hope this does not cause another Chillul Hashem.
Hopefully before they convert one of the buildings into a shul they do it the right way and obtain the necessary permits!!!
They fear hasidic investors?? Anyone who buys a building can do what they want with it. Sick, sick, sick.
