    Newark Airport – The operator of Newark Liberty International Airport says lightning struck a London-bound flight shortly after takeoff, forcing it to return to the airport.

    The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs Newark airport, says no injuries were reported on Continental Flight 114.

    The flight was hit by lightning at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, shortly after it took
    off for its journey to London’s Gatwick International Airport. [AP]
