Officer Trudy Fung, a five-year veteran, was honored for her arrest of Ivanov, 37, of 58 Remsen St., who possessed an arsenal of weaponry and has been charged with a spree of anti-Jewish vandalism, painting swastikas on synagogues, cars and homes. If convicted, Ivanov could face up to 25 years in prison.

Fung was awarded with a citation presented by Deputy Borough President Yvonne Graham; and Leslie Lewis, president of the community council, presented her with a certificate. [brooklyneagle]

your right for the 90% of the fine officers who join the finest police force in the world. But you should speak out about the 10% which join for the powere and nothing else. There are officers who literally make up stories and exagerate arrrests and we know this first hand.

These corrupt individuals give the NYPD a abd name. And go-d forbid anyone opens their mouth and exposes the ilk people end up with smashed windows, smashed up cars, falsified tickets and the entire blue wall of silence.

    We all know it.

    Go Trudy,
I for one will probably echo the feelings of most in our community, May G-d grant you the strength to do the hard job in which you find yourself. I would never be able to do it, and therefore, I am VERY grateful to the likes of yourself who risk their lives everyday to give me the lifestyle I am ensconsed in today.
    Thanks again, and G-d Bless

“When the cops do their JOB we go out and honor them. Why on earth do we honor people that are just doing their job?”

Imprimis, the “job” of police officer is no ordinary job. These people knowingly, willingly and voluntarily put their personal safety and lives on the line to do their jobs, and, in the case of the NYPD, can be drawing a higher salary for a far safer occupation. They are motivated by some higher calling than just holding a job. And they put themselves (and, by extension, their families) at risk for the purpose of making society safe for those who do not place themselves in harm’s way.

Secondly, it is far better to honor a police officer for doing his or her job than to have to pay them bribes to do their jobs.

Thirdly, whenever a police officer does something of specific benefit to the Jewish community, they should receive positive feedback and reinforcement. And, conversely, whenever they do something of specific detriment to the Jewish community, they should receive negative feedback and censure. [And on this latter score, certain Jewish community leadership was quite remiss in the matter of Gidone Busch.].

We always beg the police to catch criminals because it’s their JOB!

When the cops do their JOB we go out and honor them. Why on earth do we honor people that are just doing their job?
