The property on the Monroe-Blooming Grove border, was damaged, reportedly by a developer and the Village of Kiryas Joel, as it built nearby water towers.
County Attorney David Darwin told the county legislature's the problems are being resolved.
"We've got two different parties we are dealing with, so at this point at least, there's no need for us to take any legal action." He said they are working with the responsible parties and "we'll see how it goes. So far, so good."
But one lawmaker, Frank Fornario, Jr. expressed his concerns. "Why has it taken four months for something that was done improperly," he said. "We're talking stone walls being knocked down; survey (posts) being removed, trees being knocked down, drainage swells, a chain link fence being put up. And why the county, we're responsible to the taxpayers, and we're just sitting here for four months."
But, Darwin said that is not a long time in situations like this. [midhudsonnews]
