The company was asking people to vote at the Monopoly Web site on which cities to be included in the new edition. Every city on the site listed a country, including Paris, France; Cairo, Egypt and Jerusalem, Israel.
But an employee based in London decided on her own without consulting senior management to pull "Israel" from Jerusalem after hearing complaints from pro-Palestinian groups and bloggers who argued that the city is not a part of Israel.
Today Hasbro Inc. issued an apology. And the company pulled all country names from other cities on the site when even more people complained, including the Israeli government, because Jerusalem was listed as the only city without a country. [MSNBC]

Probably because the State of Israel asked them not to.
For the same reason the SoI convinced the US Government to strong arm the overhead imagery companies to intentionally reduce the resolution of all pictures of Israel.
Just go to Google Earth and compare the image of the Kotel with, lehavdil, that of the White House.
when you go to google maps, you will notice that most cointries you can see cities, townships and even street names. not israel. wonder why.
Actually, I call it leveling the playing field.
Who “won”?
Hasbro did not do anything that was extra-ordinary here. They did not put in the word Israel for fear of the negative PR. They only took out the names of the other cuntries involved,, I would call that Coward-like behaviour.
funny thing is, hasbro is the Hasenfeld brothers, They r yidden, although not orthodox, but traditional.
We have wars going on in Iraq, Afhganistan and 198 countries that are also in war with each other. and 178 of the 198 wars are Muslim)
And all we can do is have another conflict over monopoly?
