Brooklyn, NY – Rate Your Brooklyn Bus Routes

    0

Brooklyn, NY – Starting on Tuesday, and continuing through April 18, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is giving local bus customers in Brooklyn a chance to rate —and rage against? — their routes using “Bus Rider Report Cards.” New York City Transit expects to hand out thousands, if not tens of thousands, of report cards for commuters to fill out in city’s most populous borough.

Riders will be asked to rate 20 aspects of service — including “reasonable wait times between buses,” “seat availability,” “smooth handling of bus,” “courtesy of bus operators and dispatchers” and “reliability of wheelchair lifts” — on a scale of A through F. Riders will also be asked to give a grade for the overall performance of the route. The report cards can be mailed in using postage-paid cards.
The report cards will be handed out during the morning rush in neighborhoods including Downtown Brooklyn, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Gravesend, Canarsie, Brownsville, Bedford-Stuyvesant, East New York, Ridgewood, Crown Heights, Coney Island, Park Slope and Brighton Beach.

Riders can also visit the M.T.A. Web site to fill out report cards in English, Chinese and Spanish. The last day that online and mail Brooklyn bus report cards will be accepted is May 23. (Staten Island bus customers have until May 2 to submit their responses to the same M.T.A. report card.) [nytimesblog]
