    New York – Two weeks ago VIN News was the first media outlet to bring this story to the attention of the Jewish community, Now The Associate Press is reporting it.

    Final arguments are due Monday in the case of a former senior officer with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Champlain who claims he endured years of anti-Semitic abuse.

    The agency said it fired Brian Israel for repeated unprofessional conduct toward members of the public. The CPB said in 2005 and 2006, Israel roughed up, improperly arrested and verbally abused people.

    Israel _ who was born in Canada and is a naturalized U.S. citizen and Navy veteran _ argues that the charges are bogus, and were drummed up by higher-ups at the northern New York border crossing in an attempt to get rid of him.

    “They fired me because of anti-Semitism and their own incompetence,” Israel said.
