New York, NY – Two of Mayor Bloomberg’s crucial voting bases got some transit-related relief this month, just as his controversial campaign for a third term heats up.

The city agreed to change the headache-causing alternate-side parking rules for Riverdale residents, cutting the number of street-sweeping days in half. And Staten Island express-bus riders found out that a possible $2.50 fare hike will be, at most, $1.25, compliments of the mayor.

Both Riverdale and Staten Island heavily favored Bloomberg in his contentious 2005 race against Fernando Ferrer.

“He needs to be sure people aren’t angry at city government in this current economic climate with an election upcoming,” said Susan Lerner, executive director of Common Cause, New York. “He doesn’t want to tick people off.”

In 2005, Bloomberg obliterated his opponent on Staten Island with more than 60,000 of about 90,000 ballots going his way.

Riverdale and its nearby neighborhoods, on the other hand, were some of the only Bronx areas where Bloomberg was able to eke out a win in the same election.

Anthony Cassino, the former chairman of Community Board 8 representing Riverdale, said the board submitted its alternate-side parking proposal to the city about a year ago and before talk of Bloomberg’s third run.

The parking change is also being considered for Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene and Boerum Hill, the city Department of Sanitation said. Those Brooklyn neighborhoods also favored Bloomberg in the past election.

According to this article if would seem that now is the best time to get special favors from the mayors office. Since in most cases most Frum Yidden are voting for him anyhow it would be the right time to cut some deals to get special deals for our communities . This could include some private favors as well as public favors.

Williamsburg bike lanes will be next.

    Wait and see.

So he can claim he’s trying to help williamsburg. While we are all getting ticketed around the corner.

Let’s not be fools and blindswiped by this ticket and tax hungry mayor.

Make sure to vote against him and try to get friends along with you.

Don’t forget his first year accomplishment:

    18% Propertty Tax increase

Yearly 14% increase in nyc water charges

    Double the traffic agents

    Double the ticket cost

Bike lanes all over the five boros

    41,000 Tickets in williamsburg alone.

    57,000 tickets in BP alone

Changing the rules so he can run again. Against the will of the people in nyc.

Property taxes were just hiked 11.2% on residential and commercial properties while in a recession and huge vacancy percentages – so city officials can look good giving your $400 back – money they should not have taken to begin with..

There is a 7+% increase planned for single and small multiple tenant properties for June in addition to the increased assessed value.

All this while property values are decreasing.

Dump Bloomberg and the Communist city Council while we still have a city.

Real estate taxes in NYC remain much, much lower than in any of the suburbs, even after the multiple increases. We really shouldn’t complain about them.

So because real estate taxes are lower you gonna vote for Bloomberg?

How about that sales tax is higher in NYC? that doesn’t matter to you? in nyc its 8.375% and other places its as low as 7% or more?

Bloomberg the biggest thief ever in the history:
First he raised taxes 18% then he gave $400 rebate to some people because he doesn’t really need that money !!!

He robs you with his pen, and you stupid people gonna vote for him because he gave a $400 tax rebate.

Don’t steal all my money and then claim to be Mr. nice guy by giving back part of it.

The biggest chutzpah he had was in his second campaign that he is giving $400 tax rebates.

Don’t be stupid and don’t act foolish

You people don’t see what his game plan is???? Bloomberg and his thugs in the City Council raise the property and water taxes now, so that later they can lower them and say with a straight face that thay reduced your taxes. The net result after all these shenanigans is that at best your taxes will be the same or maybe a little bit lower. That’s how these crooks have always operated.

We all remember how right before the last elections Blumberg came to Williamsburg & perforemed 1 of the biggest rallies in the history of Williamsburg, got on the podiom & promissed them anything & everything he wanted them to hear… Then right after the elections boom he started with all his gezaires & tottaly forgot about all those sweet promisses.
I’m sure that very soon he will be right back on that same stage with a new bag of lolly pops ready to be given out as promises… But this time we should be ready & waiting for him & give him the welcome he deserves…
LOUD PROTESTS!!! Right in front of those bike lanes
