Jerusalem – Mayor Nir Barkat has allocated NIS 5 million for the construction of new classrooms for Hareidi religious students in the city. The money will be used to build 1,137 classrooms, Barkat told United Torah Judaism MK Menachem Mozes.

The money was allocated in response to a request by Mozes for construction of more classrooms for Hareidi schools several months ago, when Mozes told Barkat that the schools were short some 1,000 classrooms.
Barkat added that he would work to ensure that all students in the city were able to study in a classroom, and that he would try to eliminate the need for many schools to teach their students in caravans or other temporary structures because of a lack of space.
Try to recognize that Barkat has done something positive for chareidim. This does not make him a malach or even close but when something good happens, we need to thank HaShem and His shaliach, in this case Barkat.
hey
im no good at maths
but does this mean that he is spending 5000 shekel per class?
isnt that too much to buld a room?
This doesn’t work mathematically. 5 million shekel is less then $1.5 million. There are 1,137 classrooms being built. That means they are building classrooms for just over $1,000 a room. How is that low price possible?
How do you build a classroom for approximately $1,200?
1137 more classrooms for GER.
