Just released by Artscroll, Let’s Stay Safe, features thirty two pages of full color illustrations and was developed by Project Y.E.S. as part of its Karasick Child Safety Initiative. Designed to help parents impart vital safety messages to their children, it addresses crucial issues such as safety in the home, bicycle safety, fire safety, dealing with strangers and personal safety.

“This unique book was published after nearly two years of careful, sensitive preparation,” said Gavriel Sanders, Public Relations Consultant for Artscroll in an exclusive interview with VIN News. “None of us could have anticipated the recent events which compel us to train our children well in essential safety skills both on and off the streets.”

As the founder and Director of Project Y.E.S. for the past fourteen years, Rabbi Yakov Horowitz, has been, for many years, outspoken in his belief that molestation is the single biggest factor in creating an at risk teen, with the predator in most cases, being someone the child knows.

Deciding to tackle the problem head on by empowering small children to understand that they have rights and teaching them to recognize danger signs when someone, even a person they know who looks to be trustworthy, acts inappropriately and attempts to betray their trust.

This revolutionary book not only teaches children about common safety issues at home, but also discusses personal safety in an open, honest and non-threatening manner.

In an exclusive interview with VIN News, Rabbi Horowitz explains the evolution of this book and how it can best be used by parents to produce confident, self-aware children who are capable of dealing with any safety threats that they may encounter.

With carefully nuanced text masterfully written by Bracha Goetz, and beautiful illustrations by Tova Leff, this revolutionary book not only teaches children about common safety issues at home, but also discusses personal safety in an open, honest and non-threatening manner.

The book can be ordered at Artscroll online here.

Rabbi Horowitz is a leader and pioneer in this movement. The silence of the majority of rabbonim on this issue says it all. Also, the bizarre comments about the Leiby Z’L murder by closest molestors and their supporters coming up with all sorts of excuses for the molestor Aron is quite unsettling and cause of concern for any parent in BP.

Not opening the door to a stranger will not protect a child from a predator whom he knows.
