“New York City is home to more than 8 million of the most open and tolerant people in the world. But even here, there are occasional incidents involving actions that are hateful or vicious or both.
The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is actively investigating the twisted person or people who attacked cars, benches, and a sidewalk on a block of Ocean Parkway early this morning. The Hate Crimes Task Force, like so many other teams at our Police Department, is the world’s best, as today’s arrest for swastikas painted in Queens during October and early November shows. In fact, hate crimes are down nearly 30 percent citywide so far this year and are down roughly 33 percent in Brooklyn’s 66th Precinct.
“The fact that this most recent attack came on the heels of the 73rd anniversary of Kristalnacht may or may not be a coincidence. Either way, this kind of hateful act has no place in the freest city in the freest country in the world.”
What a weak, diluted, uninspired statement from Mr. Bloomberg.
The mayor is crazy. Why can’t the mayor just condemn straight out and stp with the wishy washy and politically correct statement made by a press secretary. If Mayor Gullaini was the mayor on Friday you can guarantee that he would have been there in person.
This Mayor Bloomberg should be ashamed of himself for not being there in person and not condemning in a strong fashion and for not putting out a statement on Friday. The Mayor has to wait till shabbos to say something? Does the mayor forget that people are actually religious in New York?
Really Mr. Bloomberg, you need to retire.
If this had been done to the Pakistanis just up the street Bloomberg would have made a personal visit.
“The fact that this most recent attack came on the heels of the 73rd anniversary of Kristalnacht may or may not be a coincidence” He should read news, it happend all over the word
Proves a very valid point…In the American and Canadian golus Jews are best served by goyishe Mayors.
Of course that depends on how they feel towards Jews…
All of NYC’s past Jewish mayors were failures.
The best Mayor you ever had in that past 50 years was you guessed it Guliani.
To #11 -Montreal Yid- You don’t know what you are talking about. The best Mayor New York City ever had was Fiorelo LaGuardia, who was halachically Jewish, since his Mother was Jewish.
