New York – Officials say $1.4 million in federal homeland security money will be distributed to support the operations of a dozen bomb squads across the state.

They say that will build on $5.4 million spent since 2006 for response plans, equipment and training.
The money will go to six units in New York City and its suburbs, the counties of Erie, Chautauqua, and Onondaga, the cities of Rochester and Syracuse and the village of Endicott.
