Boston – The special “agent-in-charge” who has been tagged to head-up the investigation into Monday’s bombings at the Boston Marathon has an impeccable record with the FBI and is, according to law enforcement insiders, “no stranger” to manhunts.

NBCNEWS (http://nbcnews.to/ZZP5Te) is reporting that Special Agent-in-Charge, Richard DesLauriers, is a 26 year veteran of the FBI and has extensive experience in security, espionage, and violence-related crimes.
DesLauriers, a Massachusetts native, began his FBI career in 1987 at the bureau’s Birmingham, Alabama office investigating violent crime and fugitive cases.
From 1990-95 DesLauriers worked in the FBI’s New York counterintelligence office, after which he was promoted to supervisory special agent status at the Eurasian Section of National Security Branch at the bureau’s headquarters in Washington, DC.
A retired FBI agent said DesLauriers being tagged to head up the FBI’s Boston office is a “preferred assignment,” and that DesLauriers would have to have proven himself “exceptionally capable” to be assigned the position.
As head of the Boston office, DesLauriers is credited with helping capture the elusive ex-Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger after 16 years on the run.
This article makes me sick we have hundreds of people in hospital some without legs we still didn’t catch anybody but were busy on how great this FBI agent is can we first catch the merder before we sing his praises

I agree 100% with #1 . The FBI has erred many times, since its creation. The late J. Edgar Hoover (Director of the FBI from 1924-1972), had the public believing that the FBI could walk on water, and were supermen at solving crimes. Unfortunately, the myth which Hoover created came to an end on 9/11/01, when it was determined that the headquarters of the FBI in D.C., failed to follow up on field reports from its agents, that middle eastern males were taking flight lessons, and didn’t care how to land planes. It also failed to do an analysis of a computer of a terrorism suspect, which it already had in custody. If one reads the 9/11/01 Commission report, there were serious flaws committed by the FBI, which might have stopped the terrorist acts of 9/11/01. My point is that there is no guarantee that this most recent act of terrorism will be solved by the FBI. For example, to this date, 93 years after it occurred, the FBI has never solved a bombing on Wall Street, which killed 38 people.
