A hearing was held in September with Judge Eugene Peckham. Peckham wrote a report stating Jenkins be removed from his position as mayor because evidence showed a pattern of his misconduct and abuse.
Appellate justices heard arguments in February from Jenkins’ attorney Michael Sussman and Kirk Orseck, who represented residents who petitioned for Jenkins’ removal from office.Jenkins has a long history with police officers.
As reported previously by VIN News, in Feb. 2010 he was arrested on charges on charges of trademark counterfeiting, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana.
In July 2012, he was charged with a misdemeanor and a violation for punching a man and a police officer in his beauty-supply store on Broadway. In Nov. 2013, Jenkins was videotaped swearing at his own officers and promising revenge following his Nov. 16 arrest for drunken driving.
this entire thing was a joke. I watched the video and was surprised he was not removed that day.
typical
If I had a (black) son, he’d look just like Gordon!
Long, long, long overdue. Maybe Monticello can rise from the ashes now. He was a thug.
He was a disaster as a Mayor. If that village is ever to come back, it must have an effective Mayor and not a race baiting clown in charge. Pass thru there and see how much is closed down, it is nothing short of a shame.
The infractions for which he had been arrested are child’s play when compared to Marion Berry. And Berry ran for his old office again after he did time and won. Balck people are really not like us, not in the way they vote and not in the way they make other moral judgements.
