The officers raided the deli to crack down on its sales of untaxed cigarettes, according to ABC News 7 (http://7ny.tv/1JsY88g). The deli manager, Ali Abdullah, says he realized the next day that the money kept in a box under the counter was missing. He viewed the video, caught using the store’s 12-camera security system, and watched as one of the detectives grabbed the pile of money and put what appears to be money into his coat pocket.
The NYPD has viewed the video and stated that one detective has been suspended pending an investigation between Internal Affairs and the DA’s office.

nice nice….well trained!
It used to be the firefighters with their boots. Now we have to worry about police also!
It’s an epidemic. It’s always been. Just now it’s being caught on video. Just goes to show, cops have been murdering and stealing for centuries.
I understand stealing. I am not saying it is right but we are establishing that he is a thief. To not reaalize these stores all have video is stupid as well.
He was keeping it as evidence. C’mon, he’s a NYPD.
I’m curious to know what ridiculous excuse, Det. Palladino, of the Detective’s Benovolent Association is going to offer for this thief. When Det. Patrick Cherry was taped cursing and screaming at the Uber taxi driver, Palladino’s excuse was that Cherry had just visited a critically ill cop, in the hospital. Now, what excuse will be given? Will they say that “the Detective accidentally scooped the cash, and it inadvertently landed in his pocket”?
