City and State NY publishes multiple lists of influential movers and shakers in the city throughout the year, with both Greenfield and Rabbi Niederman coming in in the top ten on this year’s Brooklyn Power 50(https://bit.ly/3iW70vc), recognized for their abilities to advocate for those they have chosen to serve.

Greenfield, ranked at number four, was lauded for his efforts at the helm of Met Council including snagging $6 million in city grants that he channeled into feeding the needy, an effort that also encompassed sending ready to eat Passover food to homebound Brooklyn residents. Met Council ran a record 101 food distributions this year by leveraging public and private dollars, said Greenfield.

“We could only do that because we led a successful campaign to increase funding for all food pantries and food banks and made sure that kosher New Yorkers got their fair share,” Greenfield told VIN News. “During the next year I hope to find more ways to help those who have been impacted by coronavirus get back on their feet.”

Rabbi Niederman was number eight on the list, recognized for his ability to criticize elected officials when his community has been treated unfairly, while still maintaining close relationships with those same individuals.

“We are not shy to work with the government and we are not shy to call them out when we feel our community has been wronged,” said Rabbi Niederman. “We hope to be able to continue working with our elected officials for the betterment of our community and all the residents of Williamsburg and Brooklyn.”

Both Greenfield and Rabbi Niederman have been previously recognized by City and State NY, making the magazine’s Brooklyn Power 50 list in 2018 and being included along with Senator Simcha Felder, Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein and real estate developers Toby Moskovits and Michael Lichtenstein on the broader 2019 Brooklyn Power 100.

I would say rabbi Niederman should be ahead of Greenfield as the laters power is basically from the very powerful met council that has little to do with its CEO, while Niederman single handedly built up the greatest Jewish council in new York. Providing help to the community in every issue on every level swiftly, with a staff that is dedicated to every individual, I sure hope that this recognition will put pressure on all other jcc’s to provide the services to their community selflessly,
