A notice sent out by Shul President Aryeh Katz reads as follows:

“Due to the difficulty guaranteeing the health and well-being of our membership, starting on 2am Thursday morning, the Agudah building will be closed and the combination lock will be changed.

Davening will be available for members with masks in outdoor tents. Sifrei Torah will be available for these minyanim, as will limited access to the restrooms.

We expect the building to remain closed through Simchas Torah, at which point we will reevaluate.”

Keep the Shuls open. Have a full divider in the middle. One side for those who already had Covid or those who don’t care. The other side for those who never had it and want to practice social distancing and wear masks. Everyone can and should be accommodated. We do it in our Shul and there is shalom and achdus.

This should have been done earlier. Is going to Shul more important than keeping safe?
Also if this virus started here, what would President Trump say if a nation called it the “American Virus?”

I find this very perplexing. If you have it, stay home. If you think you have it stay home. We’ve learned enough about The Chinese Wuhan virus in the past 6 months that we know more now than we did back in March.

Keep the shul open. Enforce masks if necessary. Do what you need to to keep it open. Why close it? There is no gain by that.

And the proof of my point will be that they will not open in two weeks! Hopefully I’m wrong.
