YAAKOV M: Analysis – Four Major Blunders Made by Putin in Ukraine

In this image made from video released by the Russian Presidential Press Service, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressees the nation in Moscow, Russia, Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022. Russian troops launched their anticipated attack on Ukraine on Thursday, as Putin cast aside international condemnation and sanctions and warned other countries that any attempt to interfere would lead to "consequences you have never seen." The Ukrainian resistance is much stronger and more damaging than anybody expected. Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said that the number of Russian troops killed could be as high as 4,300. She also said that Russians lost about 146 tanks, 27 aircraft and 26 helicopters.

While those numbers are not confirmed and may be inflated, there is no question that Russian casualties are far higher than anyone imagined.

Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin made four major blunders in this invasion:

  1. OPPOSITION. He underestimated the strength of the resistance by Ukrainian citizens, who are desperately trying to protect their homeland. He also underestimated President Zelensky, and probably expected him to flee the country, not remain and rally his people.
  2. STRATEGY. Russian troops invaded from four different sides, likely hoping to capture the entire country swiftly. However he spread his army way too thin, and would have been better off concentrating heavy forces on one area at a time. As a result, Putin has not taken control of a single population center, and his soldiers have encountered heavy resistance.
  3. AIRSPACE. Putin did not take out the Ukrainian Air Force early on, and Ukrainian jets have been a huge obstacle for Russian fighters.. As a result, Russian aircraft have not been able to take command of any airpace, which has put ground troops at a huge disadvantage.
  4. SUPPLY CHAIN. Russian troops are running out of food, water, and fuel, and there is a very poor game plan to deliver additional supplies.

Biden’s Failures

Although the Ukrainian people have put up a strong resistance, President Biden and NATO were incredibly slow and weak in their support of President Zelensky, at least on a practical level. They refused to impose sanctions for many weeks, and did not supply Ukraine with the weapons needed to defeat Russia. In fact, the Biden administration told Zelensky to flee the country, yet he refused.

This was a great opportunity to fight a proxy war with Russia without American troops getting their hands dirty, yet Biden did not take advantage. Now that Ukraine is putting up a fight on their own, the U.S. and NATO have finally jumped on the bandwagon.

The biggest failure would be that he didn’t realize the opposition to him by his own people. Many were willing to be locked up just for publicly denouncing this invasion and when millions more do the same then Putin will be overwhelmed. That is probably the one way shy of a miracle that can bring him down. Let’s hope the people of Russia are able to do it.

You got any credentials to analyze Putin, or you have a keen imagination?

Who is Yaakov M? Why doesn’t he use his full name and what are his credentials?
Does he know more about Russia than Marjorie Taylor Greene?

I mean, if we’re characterizing blunders as “taking a couple of days longer to take over a sovereign nation with almost no resistance” then I guess he’s making blunders. None of his objectives have been denied him. He’s still going to destroy Ukraine and kill thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people.

the ONLY reason the US is involved in potential WWIII is because the senile guy who stole the election that occupies the White House has a druggie son who need money and the corrupt Ukrainians are giving it to him. There is no strategic interest for the US in the Ruskies killing Bandera aineklach.

The mistake Putin made is hanging out around the borders of Ukraine which gave Ukrainian citizens time to get guns. Had it been a surprise attack they would not be ready to be armed nor would the world have time to organize a financial boycott.
