NEW YORK (VINnews) — Kyiv Chief Rabbi Moshe Asman (one of a number of claimants to title of Chief Rabbi) has slammed the ‘silence and indifference” of Russians and Russian Jews over what is occurring in Ukraine.

Holding a Sefer Torah in his hands, the Rabbi, whose village nicknamed ‘Anatevka’ outside Kyiv is currently home to hundreds of refugees from the wartorn region, said that he had received calls of support from all over the world but not from Russia, despite having been born and bred there. He said that contrary to Israel which is careful to target terrorists with precision missiles and thus protects the civilian population, the Russians are using “GRADS, shells, air strikes” which indiscriminately target entire populations, leading to high civilian casualties.
“I never dreamed that I could die from a Russian shell”, he said, speaking in Russian.

Asman blessed those who are not indifferent to the pain of Ukrainians but at the same time cursed those who remained “silent and indifferent.”
In the following clip, taken by Israel’s I24 news, Rabbi Asman is more optimistic:

Absolutely the one that deserves the title CHIEF RABBI. A captain does not jump ship before everyone is out. The others that claim to be chief Rabbi are enjoying life outside the hell hole that this man is in. Most likely he has not slept a normal night in a week. ה’ ישמרינו
This guy is not playing with full a full deck. Watch him talk while holding a “sefer Torah”??
its really terrible what is happening and how America is so weak with a senile, corrupt and feckless leader that is as legitimate in the eyes of most legal Americans as the leader in Zimbabwe.
Maybe they should have listened to the experts and gone for a holiday anywhere but Ukraine. 1939 all over again.
Guess he should have accepted Israel’s offer, a few days before the shooting began, to be transferred and absorbed in Eretz Hakodesh. Instead they encouraged the Yidden to remain in the Ukraine.
Why is this one the only one labeled as
“(one of a number of claimants to title of Chief Rabbi)”
