After Prof. Kasher Calls Chareidim ‘Mutations’ And Parasites, Radio Anchor Suggests He Change Name To ‘Treif’

JERUSALEM(VINnews) — Professor Asa Kasher, a philosopher who authored the IDF’s ethics code, has been one of the most outspoken critics of the chareidi community. In recent months, Kasher, a grandson of Rabbi Mendel Kasher, has stepped up his verbal abuse, terming chareidim a ‘mutation’ of the original chareidi community.

In a Sunday interview Kasher once again used fiery invective in criticizing both the legal reforms being promulgated by the new government as well as the chareidim. Kasher claimed that the government wishes to turn the country from a democracy into “something else” in which politicians will have unfettered power to take any decision they want. “Every one of us living in a democracy should know that the situation could change, every politician could determine restrictions for us and our freedom will disappear. They wish to erase civil rights, the High Court doesn’t tell us what to do, it tells the government not to disturb our rights.

“We have two parties in power, one ultra-orthodox and the other ultra-extreme. As I wrote previously, the chareidi ‘mutation’ exposes a transformation from the ‘galut’ mode of living as a reclusive minority maintaining its ways and not provoking the secular rulers to a new form of life in which the minority lives off the majority as an economic parasite, shirker of national service devoid of any civic responsibilities and with no real respect for the democratic system and its principles.”

Kasher added that “I look at the chareidim, all my grandfathers were chareidi but they worked and supported themselves and some were intellectuals. I use the word mutation to describe the big difference between chareidim then and now. One can’t stand the nationalist government today or the chareidi tyranny, one can’t stand the chareidi parasitic behavior. The chareidi public never lived off others but now they could bring about the economic collapse of the country.”

Chareidi radio anchor Menahem Toker decided to play a prank on Kasher and called him up from his radio show. Toker said that he really respected him for all that he has done [Kasher received the Israel Prize for philosphy] but suggested that he change his name to Treif. Kasher responded that “maybe you should shut your mouth and buzz off.” but Toker insisted that he is Treif and should call himself by that name. Kasher hung up the phone.

When you listen to what he really says there are some points to be made. Think back to your generations prior and tell me that they would have approved the behavior and lifestyle of todays Chareidim.

He is 100% right, we became people who find it leisurely to live off other peoples work. It will not last – as those who are pulling the burden will wake up one day, and ask why are we supporting almost 100,000 people sitting in Kollel. Looks like the civil war is starting faster than anyone thought.

So much hate. When the previous leftist knesset gave Muslims 75 billion shekels in a year which was the slightly more than the governed gave to Hareidim since 1948 he didn’t say a beep.

This is a man who said: “it is justified to kill a Palestinian child who is in the company of a hundred ‘terrorists'” because the terrorists might kill children.” Chareidim don’t want a part of his IDF. He is not treif – he’s a kosher meshugana l’mehadrin.

A person is certainly entitled to an opinion. But this exclusive focus on the chareidy community without pointing out the economic drain the Arab community and the illegal immigrants and the mafia have on the Israeli economy make it seem as though he is anti chareidy and not pro Israeli economy.

(Obviously, I don’t care enough to research his positions on the aforementioned issues but my comment is certainly relevant to some.)

Definitely not original. The Brisker rav – R’ Velvel zt”l used to refer to his grandfather, who had zionistic leanings, as R’ Mendel Treif!

If memory serves, the Satmar Rav called this Professor’s grandfather “the biggest treifa”.

The Nazis predicated the genocide by repeatedly describing the Jews as parasites, thus making the extermination acceptable to society.

His grandfather, with his fake/”modified” kol korei and other chicanery, was the one who invented the “Religious Zionist” Big Lie of “Reishis Tzemichas Geulaseinu”, afra lipumeih.
