State Senator Julia Salazar allegedly ridiculed David Kelsey for having a “stereotypically Jewish look”.
1. While you were celebrating our country's past elected heroes, NY State Senator Julia Salazar @JuliaCarmel__ @SalazarSena rebutted my critique of her policies and cultural appropriation by body shaming me. https://t.co/2pqBK2YJpP pic.twitter.com/CPIEhTF50a

The saga began when Kelsey made a comment criticizing Salazar’s preferring to focus on her tattoos over her voting record.
Salazar tweeted about a meeting she went to, saying it was an “another opportunity for people I have known for several years to suddenly realize I have 20 tattoos on my body.”
In response, Kelsey, tweeting as @TheKvetcher, sarcastically replied: “When your record is too far out there to get specific during campaign season … ‘I have 20 tattoos on my body.”
Salazar responded with a screenshot of Kelsey’s bio alongside a close-up of his head, centering on his face, underneath the statement, “Submitted without comment.”
5. Salazar claims to be Jewish, but her lies of hyphenated-Jewish upbringing and ancestry were refuted not just by journalists, but by her own family.https://t.co/QXwRe4nOag pic.twitter.com/GjAGi60O8s

“What can I say, Senator Salazar? My grandparents are actually Jewish. And this is how I look,” said Kelsey, referring to claims by Salazar that she was Jewish, which appear to have been baseless, and which she later appeared to backtrack from.
The tweet has since been deleted, however a screenshot was posted by Kelsey.
Kelsey responded by saying, “what can I say, Senator Salazar? My grandparents are actually Jewish. And this is how I look.”
Kelsey told the New York Post, “I look stereotypically Jewish and she was just mocking that. Why blow my face up like that unless you’re making fun of my looks?”
Salazar has tweeted that she was denied entry into Israel for her “anti-occupation views.”
She also has allegedly claimed to be a migrant from Colombia, but was proven to have been born in Miami.
Another misleading headline here- NY State Senator Accused of Ridiculing Jewish Man’s Face on Twitter
She posted a blow-up of his face. He presumed it was to ridicule his Jewish looks. She said he was acting creepy. It’s he said she said, nothing proven and likely impossible to prove.
No need to distort that in a provocative catchy headline, it just turns off readers.
Wait a democrat that has lied about her heritage and no uproar Good thing she’s not a republican
Hmm…
A politician lying?!?
What a surprise!
Silly
oy she sounds like a democrat wannabe version of george the republican guy who’s been getting a lot of press lately
I don’t see any ridicule here. She just posted a closeup photo of his face, without a comment.
She is a member of the Democratic Socialists like AOC
Politics is rough. Don’t be a snowflake.
She used to say she was Sefardic
