WASHINGTON (VINnews) — According to a bombshell report, Attorney General Merrick Garland is the unnamed official at the center of an alleged scandal involving Hunter Biden.

According to the NY Post, Garland’s sworn testimony before Congress is being challenged in a stunning “whistleblower” letter that alleges a massive coverup.
Attorney Mark Lytle wrote Wednesday that an anonymous IRS employee has information to “contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee” as well as a claim that “preferential treatment” was given to Hunter Biden by investigators.
If the allegations are true, it would implicate the country’s top law enforcement official in a scandal of historic proportions.
The anonymous whistleblower has supervised the IRS’s investigation of Hunter Biden for alleged tax evasion linked to his income from countries such as China and Ukraine.
Garland has repeatedly claimed under oath that Delaware US Attorney David Weiss has full permission and autonomy to criminally charge Hunter Biden without the permission of DOJ leadership, a fact which Republicans have challenged.
Garland in April 2022 said under oath that “there will not be interference of any political or improper kind” in the investigation of Hunter Biden.
“He is the supervisor of this investigation,” Garland said, adding “we put the investigation in the hands of a Trump appointee from the previous administration, who is the US attorney for the district of Delaware, and … you have me as the attorney general, who is committed to the independence of the Justice Department from any influence from the White House in criminal matters.”
There have been other instances in which Garland has insisted under oath that Weiss has the freedom to prosecute the president’s son.
Giving false testimony to Congress can be punishable by up to five years in prison, although it is rarely prosecuted.
The Justice Department declined to comment.

We live at a time where nobody will step outside their echochamber to listen to facts. The left wing Democrats will not care even if the allegations are true. They will not do anything to Garland because he is on their side. The same is true for the right wing. Trump himself said that his supporters would continue to support him even if he murdered somebody on 5th Ave in broad daylight. People who have definite political/philosophical/religious views will not listen to anyting that does not mirror what they already believe.

This headline is satire. Literally the opossite of shocking.

Merrick Garland left a Trump appointed US Attorney on the Hunter Biden case. While Trump chased out Preet Baharrara, who was then investigating his dirty hush money payments.
I don’t remember VIN News running such “shock” headlines, as it runs now without knowing the facts.
No one of us knows the facts, not even the laywer of the supposed whistleblower. But my prediction is (I’m not certain, just a hunch) that it will turn out to be non burger.
It seems to be about a statement where Garland said that he will abide by a recommendation of the Delaware US Attorney, if he wants to bring charges against Hunter outside of Delaware.
Even if he failed to abide, he didn’t lie, and it’s a broken promise, rather then a criminal lie. What if he believed that US Attorney Weiss overplayed his hand? after all he a Trump appointee.
We need more info here, before we jump to conclusions.
But context matters, Trump chased out a US Attorney investigation him, while Biden/Garland left a Trump appointed attorney guide the investigation.
