NEW YORK (VINnews) — The VIN News Editorial team would like to thank Speaker Kevin McCarthy profusely for refusing to allow Rashida Tlaib, an avowed anti-Israel Palestinian, to hijack the Capitol with an antisemitic event.

McCarthy, who delivered a historic address to the Knesset last month, prevented Tlaib from reserving space at the Capitol Visitor Center to mark “Nakba,” a disgraceful term for the founding of Israel that means “catastrophe.”

McCarthy strongly condemned the plan as “antisemitic” and used his seniority to reserve the space for himself. In poetic justice, he is going to hold an event to commemorate Israel’s 75th anniversary on May 14.

“This event at the U.S. Capitol is canceled,” McCarthy tweeted. “Instead, I will host a bipartisan discussion to honor the 75th anniversary of the U.S.-Israel relationship.”

It is extremely refreshing to finally have Congressional leadership who supports Israel and the Jews, and has the courage to stand up for their principles.

Under Nancy Pelosi, Squad members were allowed to spew vicious Jew-hatred unapologetically. Whether due to her cowardice or having twisted values, Pelosi refused to denounce their antisemitism or show her support for Jews.

Even past Republican leaders have been too timid to denounce members of Congress and other politicians who expressed their hatred of Jews.

Not Kevin McCarthy.

He has a long history of supporting Jews, and he has shown time and again that he is willing to stand up for what is right, despite the repercussions.

McCarthy’s decision to cancel the event coincided with the Iron Dome defense system fending off a huge barrage of rockets launched out of Gaza.

“It’s wrong for members of Congress to traffic in anti-Semitic tropes about Israel,” McCarthy told the Washington Free Beacon. “As long as I’m Speaker, we are going to support Israel’s right to self-determination and self-defense, unequivocally and in a bipartisan fashion.”

Antisemite Tlaib has a long history of attacks on Israel. She recently called it an “apartheid state”, claiming it was founded on the “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians.

She also posted a video of IDF soldiers breaking up a fight between Arabs, and falsely claimed they were assaulting the Arabs. It was such an egregious lie that Twitter community notes corrected her tweet.

An invitation for the Tlaib event read, “Seventy-five years ago, Zionist militias and the new Israeli military violently expelled approximately three-quarters of all Palestinians from their homes and homeland in what became the state of Israel.”

The Palestinian issue – other than Jewish lives affected in the Zionist paradise – is purely an Israeli/Zionist matter, not a Jewish matter. There is nothing anti-Jewish about her mourning the “nakba” as they call it.

The truth is that Jews should mourn – far more than any gentile – the founding of the Zionist State (and Zionism in general), as Zionism has been directly involved in, if not the cause of, untold Jewish since the end of the 1800s when Herzl SR”Y kicked into gear political Zionism.

It would not have been anti-semitic in the slightest had she run her event, provided that she correctly distinguished between the wicked imposter Zionists and the Jews.
