FRANCE (VINnews) — A social experiment by the French YouTuber Dimerci TV has gone viral, after a religious Jew, wearing a kippah and tzitzis, prevented the staged suicide attempt.

The question is, was it a random act of heroism, and the rescuer happened to be in the right place at the right time? Or perhaps something else entirely?
The French YouTuber was reportedly conducting a social experiment. He stood in a crowded street, and poured what appeared to be a flammable liquid on himself, pulling out a lighter in an attempt to set himself on fire.
Onlookers stood by and remained mostly indifferent, observing the scene without flinching.
But within seconds, an ultra-orthodox man wearing a kippah and tzitzis jumps in and knocks the lighter out of his hands, to save him, and prevent the suicide.
The brave Jew, identified as @mendelnarbon, seemed to perform a tremendous Kiddush Hashem by putting his life in danger as he stepped in to stop the man from seemingly committing suicide.
An absolutely beautiful kiddush hashem. Kiddush hashem means honoring God. https://t.co/Eg9nYegaXF

Here is the rest of the story:
Dimerci has millions of followers and over 2 billion views on YouTube alone.
Narboni is a well-known Tiktok influencer who has 74K followers. Was it mere coincidence that he was present, just as Dimerci was ‘setting himself on fire’?
From the pouring of liquid over his head to pulling out the lighter to the yid rushing at him it seems to fast. Its not like the guy was attracting attention to himself that he wants to kill himself. Looks staged to me.
100% staged. When someone pours gasoline in themselves & no one jumps away…..
“At first I thought it was just water … afterward I saw his face so I understood that he is depressed. He took out the lighter and I said to myself, no it’s not possible that before my eyes I see a person setting himself on fire. It’s just not possible. So, I came and I took the lighter and I sat with him,” Narboni told Ynetnews.
“I spoke with him and said no this isn’t the right thing to do, I can help you, and then afterward he showed me that it was a prank,” he also said.
Narboni says that the area where the video was filmed is a popular location for influencers and content creators so it’s not surprising that multiple creators were in the area at the same time. (Ynet)
100% staged.
Terrible acting.
The scene in the movie Airplane, where the Arab guy is so bored with Ted Striker spilling his life story he pours gasoline all over his body and lights a match, is a heck of a lot funnier. Of course the joke is, even after ha blows out the match, he eventually blows himself to bits anyway.
As soon as I saw this on Twitter, I knew it was staged
Let’s say it is fake. What does vinnews gain by this article? Let’s say it is real. Why make it out to be bad? If it’s a kiddush Hashem why tarnish the whole thing
totally fake. I was looking through dimerci’s videos and saw a video of both the jewish kid and him a month ago talking about cost of living. They know each other
Looks cool. Who cares about if it’s real or fake.
“We” know it was staged but that’s not a reason to not use it as Pro-Jewish propaganda.
