NEW YORK (VINnews) — In a bombshell announcement, Dov Hikind, the former NYS Assemblyman and renowned Jewish activist, has declared that he and his wife are switching to the Republican party.

The lifelong Democrat says that the “Dems have turned their back on Jews & Israel, so it’s officially done!”

In another tweet, Hikind said that “the Democrat party is dead”.

He also recently told Sid Rosenberg on WABC radio that “the Democrat party has gone off the cliff” (audio below, begins at around 8 minutes). He added that his children are switching parties as well.

Many Republicans welcomed Dov to the party, and expressed that this decision was long overdue. Governor Mike Huckabee tweeted, “Welcome to the GOP @HikindDov! I’ve been to Israel with Dov and Shani & they are fine people and friends who love the USA & Israel. Proud to stand with them!”

No shock here. Hikind was a Democrat on paper only. His views has always been as a republican.

The views of todays Democratic party is far worse then it was the time of Sodom and Gomorrah and the Dor Hamabul combined.

Why is this a shock?
He has been supporting the Republican Party for a while, even if he was officially registered as a democrat

Yasher Koach Dov. You’re a leader of the Jewish people and a man of truth. I hope that the ensuing comments are also positive especially during the nine days.

It’s about time he left the donkey party. But truthfully, neither elephants nor donkeys are kosher animals.

At the request of our “askanim” I just switched to the democrats from the republicans (about 3 years ago). Supposedly it was the only way for us to have any influence in the elections whatsoever.
Does this mean I am going to be asked to switch back again?

BH about time definitely a move in the right direction. I’ve asked a lot of elderly and old time Jews regarding why do they belong to the Democrat party. and I’ve always gotten the same answer it’s because of immigrations and social servicesthey provide. In my humble opinion that is not enough. I know that the republicans can be very extreme especially when it comes to religious beliefs . However they are on the right side of morality and this is where all of us jews must be on ,especially in this times.

If you live in NYC you must register as a Democrat. In the regular election you can vote who you want anyway but, in the primaries if you aren’t registered as a democrat you don’t really have a say.

Take the primaries last summer in district 10 part of which is in Boro Park if not for the democrats in Boro Park voting for Dan Goldman (whom I didn’t vote for in the regular election) some Woke progressive democrat would have one the primaries and the election.

“We were fooling ourselves if we thought that anti-Semitism had disappeared.

And if the left wing of the Democratic Party achieves dominance, you can be sure it will increase.”

Hopefully, democrat politicians do the same nationally and jump ship before the 2024 election, otherwise they’ll be on the wrong side of a revolution if Trump is taken down. Americans will not accept the democrat results peacefully again.

Jonathan S. Tobin [editor in chief of JNS] said:

“If even a popular, pro-Israel Jewish Democrat like Adler was afraid to stand up to Ilhan Omar in his own city, then it’s not clear under what circumstance any member of that party would think they could afford to do so.

That means that the battle to quarantine an anti-Semite like Omar to the margins of American politics has been lost. Not only are she and Tlaib among the young rock stars of their party, they have far greater influence than anyone would have thought only a few months ago.”
