Yoilish Kraus: After Journalist’s Anti-Charedi Provocation, I Won’t Interview On Channel 13

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Yoilish Kraus, a Meah Shearim resident who is a spokesperson for the Eda Charedis in the Israeli media, said that he will discontinue interviews on Channel 13 after journalist Neria Kraus claimed that a chareidi person had discriminated against her on a plane by asking her to move seats.

Kraus wrote that “Since after checking the facts with R’…. and ascertaining that nothing happened beyond a request to sit next to the guy he learns with, and since Channel 13 published the lies and encouraged the blood libel she made up, I will not be interviewing on Channel 13 until they apologize, or until the lawyer of R’……will succeed in the libel suit he will be submitting in the next few days against Channel 13. The suit is being submitted with the support of Satmar chasidim in the US, who are insistent on responding to the provocation of the Israeli media.

Neria Kraus (no relation of Yoilish) had claimed that she was forced to move seats because she was a woman, but the person whose picture she published responded that this was not the case and he had merely asked her to swap so two friends could sit together. He also stressed that when she refused, there was no further pressure on her.

Kraus responded on her Twitter account that she had been subjected to “pressure to move seats” and said that when she refused, they managed to “find a woman who would sit next to me and enable the young friends to sit together.”

She also categorically denied hating charedim. “Every time a woman complains of exclusion she is attacked for being against Judaism, but this is a base lie, there is no connection between humiliating women and Judaism.”

I agree with this lawsuit; Channel 13 should be punished financially, even if they apologize. It is bad enough that there are others who reach negatively to the sight of a kippah. However, when it is a member of the tribe, it is despicable.

To be fair, its only natural for a journalist to lie – about anything they say.

Neria Kraus,

You are a huge ignoramus.

A Torah observant Jew who does not want to sit near another woman is not called humiliating women.

You obviously hate Frum Yidden as most or all secular people in Israel hate Frum Yidden.

This is true in theory, but not if she lied and libeled religious Jews.

“…when she refused, they managed to find a woman who would sit next to me and enable the young friends to sit together.”

so the total extent of her “humiliation” was that another woman agreed to sit next to her?!

This guy is a real nut job. There is a very amusing video going around, him sitting chanukkah with this 15 children singing Haneirous halluli, but subsituting the words for the Zionist, while changing the narrative. Google it – it is very funny.
Out community is not in need of any more nut cases.

I don’t get the whole idea if even asking women nicely to move seats. My chasdisha rabbeim took the city bus every day and I don’t recall them asking . I don’t recall people asking on planes 30 years ago either
