Jerusalem Mother Of Twins Who Collapsed Before Their Birth Passes Away At Age 34

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — BDE: Doctors in Shaare Tzedek hospital were forced to declare the death of Mrs. Shoshana Goldstein (nee Neuwirth), the 34-year-old mother of twins who collapsed ten days ago after apparently suffering from dehydration during an intense heat wave.

Goldstein, a resident of Zichron Yaakov street in the Romema neighborhood, lost consciousness and was taken to Shaare Tzedek hospital during resuscitation and with no pulse after collapsing at home. A large team of doctors performed an emergency c-section for both of her children, who were both born without a pulse and resuscitated. One of the twins passed away the day after his birth and doctors continued to try and save the mother and the other child, who were in very serious condition.

Doctors later said that Goldstein was suffering from brain edema but stressed that she had not had a heart attack, stroke or pulmonary embolism but had simply  dehydrated in 40° heat and due to a preexisting heart condition and other health issues had collapsed.

Mrs. Goldstein’s levaya will leave from Shamgar funeral parlor at 11 AM on its way to Har Hamenuchos. May her memory be blessed.
