NEW YORK CITY (VINnews) — There was a surge in hate incidents targeting Jews in October, largely in response to the October 7 Hamas terror attack, new NYPD crime data shows.

“We’re feeling it 100%,” Bob Moskovitz, executive coordinator of the Flatbush Shomrim in Brooklyn told the Daily News. “Our hotline, which the community utilizes to report any incident, has probably increased in this last month and a half by 300%. The phone is simply not stopping.”

“The community is obviously anxious and stressed by everything that is going on overseas and here,” Moscowitz added. “We are out there 24/7. Keep in mind we are volunteers — we don’t get paid for this. We’re the eyes and ears for the Police Department because they are simply overwhelmed with 911 calls and running all over the place.”

“Now it’s to the point where people are panicking,” Moscowitz said. “There’s a definite, definite high level, increased level of stress in the community. A lot of the stuff that would have been swept under the rug is now being reported.”

Bias crimes in NYC rose by 124% in October compared to October of last year, according to the newly released data. 101 incidents were reported in October, compared to 45 in October 2022.

Leading that spike was a dramatic increase in anti-semitic incidents, of which 69 were reported compared to 22 in October 2022 — a 214% increase.

In October, Shomrim received nearly 1,600 calls. A normal call volume is about 500 per month.

Moscowitz said many calls are from Jewish institutions, shuls and yeshivas, asking them to post someone outside as a guard.

He also said most calls involve youth offenders, and others involve threatening cars driving through the neighborhood shouting at people and waving Palestinian flags.

“For the most part it’s the youth,” he said. “They’re just lashing out. They don’t even have an idea of what’s going on overseas.”

He said that people also find the Israeli flags placed outside their homes have been stolen or destroyed.

One word. DEMOCRATS run it. Anything they’re in charge of, gets out of control.

According to Halacha, one should not engage in conduct, which places their lives or health in danger; hence, in that regard, I am of the opinion that placing an Israeli flag, or a sign which states “We stand with Israel”, outside ones’ home, not only can result in the signs being stolen, but can also result in one’s home being defaced with anti-semitic graffiti, such as swastikas, interlaced with Stars of David. In addition, these momzarim can also throw eggs at homes, and break windows. Support for Israel can still be shown in other ways (i.e. tsedaka), without placing signs or flags on homes.

The goyim hate us. They always have. Only now it’s in the open with no regrets.

As long as we give a balanced picture by reporting acts of Islamophobia. Like the woman who threw hot coffee at a person who said something about Muslims…
