    JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Ziv Koren is one of the most prominent photographers in Israel, an award-winning photojournalist who is internationally known for his work on humanitarian issues, military operations and worldwide documentary projects.

    Koren said that he has a good friend in Beeri but was hesitant after October 7th to call and find out if she was still alive. When her relatives didn’t answer his calls, he feared the worst. However they called him back and he found out that the woman and her family- four brothers and their spouses- were all abroad at the time and thus were spared the horrific massacre in the kibbutz.

    Karmit asked him if he could as part of his work in documenting the kibbutz’s destruction also take a picture of her house. Koren found that nothing remained of the house, the roof had collapsed, the walls were blackened, but one thing remained in a cup on a burnt shelf- a Tehillim. The only thing left in the house. Even Koren, a secular person, was moved by this.
