Carlos Portugal Gouvea, 43, also an associate professor at the University of São Paulo and head of a Brazilian think tank, was charged in Brookline District Court with illegally discharging a pellet gun, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and vandalism. He pleaded not guilty Thursday and was released on personal recognizance pending a hearing in early November.
The incident occurred outside Temple Beth Zion as Yom Kippur began, prompting a response from more than a dozen officers. Two private security guards attempted to detain Gouvea before police arrived, leading to a brief struggle, according to local reports. Police said Gouvea claimed he had been hunting rats and there was no indication he was targeting the synagogue.
Harvard Law School spokesperson Jeff Neal said Gouvea has been placed on administrative leave as the school investigates.
He should look into a mirror ~ he will definitely find a RAT !!!
he’s a rat himself

Leaving aside the question of whether the intention was to disrupt synagogue services, a simple google search shows that outdoor shooting is very dangerous on its own because of “ricochets and overpenetration issues”. Leaving aside the question of malice, one must at the very least question what level of simple comon sense this guy seems to lack.
sounds like an illegal
