    In a statement shared on X, Hochul wrote, “Rabbi Moshe Hauer was a beloved leader and educator in the Jewish community who lived his values through his work at @OrthodoxUnion. Our hearts are with his loved ones and all who are mourning this profound loss. May his memory be a blessing.”

    Rabbi Hauer, 60, passed away suddenly during Shmini Atzeres. His leadership and scholarship left a lasting impact on Jewish life across the United States and beyond.
