Yung Tang was charged with four counts of possession of a firearm, specifically two improvised explosive devices and two silencers, and one count of transporting explosive materials without a license.

Tang, a Chinese citizen who lives in Greenwood Lake, N.Y., already faced charges in a 2002 pipe bomb attack in New York that blew off part of 46-year-old Israel Halberstam's leg.

The 38-year-old was found asleep in a car in Wallingford with homemade explosives and other items including a disguise.

Tang, who appeared in U.S. District Court in New Haven, has been detained since his arrest.

Tang's federal public defender, Sarah Merriam, declined comment. His lawyer handling the New York case, George Farkas, said he's awaiting tests on the materials.

"The results of the lab analysis could be very interesting in where this case is headed or what it all means,'' Farkas said outside of court. [AP]

bigwheeel If the guy was caught with the stuff in his car when he was in his car if you have chocolate on your face and say I did not eat the cake when he already has a record with the Halberstam guy, how could they think he is not guilty? Not guilty of having the stuff in his car when they where there. Either I do not know how to read or I am stupid. Big wheeeel please explain it to me as I have no expertise in this line

Anon. 12:22AM. …Maybe if his lawyer would know someone he did hurt, the lawyer would no thimk he’s not guilty… A lawyer never thinks his client is guilty. (or at least as long as he (the client, perpetrator, defendant, criminal, etc.) has money.)

    I really don’t get it.
If the stuff was found in his car, while he was in the car, how can he plead not guilty? Mr. Halberstam can not walk on two legs like this piece of garbage can. How many more people does he have to, G-d help us, hurt in order for him to be guilty??????
Maybe if his lawyer would know someone he did hurt, the lawyer would not think he is not guilty.
