During the recent episode involving the community of Emanuel, remarks by Rabbi Ovadia Yosef were interpreted as attacks against his son for being the Jewish legal authority upon whose Jewish legal opinion the petition against chassidic track parents was submitted to the Supreme Court. Rabbi Ya’akov left the Shas party over differences with his father.

The family asks that prayers be said on behalf of Rabbi Ya’akov ben Margalit.

We should all daven for the heilege rav (yaakov yosef ben ???)…..if the stress from all the recent Emanuel events caused this cardiac event, the responsibility for his situation should make all those contributed to this tragedy run to shul and say a kapital tehillim for him and daven for a refuah shelamah.

even though my feelings may be the same like a lot of you, I believe it’s inaproprite to write it down.

No one knows gods ways, and how he punishes people and how much at guilt he is.

Question: How does writing hateful comments about a Rav and pretending to know the exact meaning of HaShem’s actions reflect on the frum education?

As much as I think he might be wrong in this case he explained himself pretty nicely on Kol Israel plus he happens to be one of the few Gedolim I respect based on his strong stance on shlamus haaretz and other very important issues you have to understand his background and the type of community that he leads then you will understand why he was so heated over this situation weather he was right or not we will hopefully know in the future until then I hope he has a quick complete refuah shalamah

By the sfaradim they are mispalel for a chole with his father’s name, so it would be Yaakob ben Obadiah. Now I wonder how he is not afraid to go to an “ashkenuzi” hospital. I wish him a refuah b’geshem v’ruach.

I’m personally very upset about the things he’s done—HOWEVER, the Medrash says Boaz died the night he married Rus!!! Imagine what everyone was saying–obviously he was wrong about Moavi V’Lo Moavis! How many generations did it take for the truth to come out?

Mir Bachur: Yiyasher Kochacha – excellent point! “Ki lo machshivosai machshivoseichem vilo darkeichem dirachai” is what we read the other week from the navi Yeshaya; we do not know Hashem’s ways and it seems foolish to say “must be he’s right and he’s wrong”.

Dear brothers and sisters, the 3 weeks are about to start and we don’t need more machlokes, CH”V. Hashem, of course, knows who was right and/or who was wrong and, as for us, we should all be happy that this sad sage is more or less over, B”H, and Jewish mothers will not go to Jail and Jewish fathers have been released from jail.

May R’ Yosef have a refuah shileimah bimheirah.

These comments about rav yosef, shlita, are the worst examples of the sinas chinam that keeps Moisiach from coming. I’m not saying that moisiach reads VIN but in this case, the whole episode and its consequences make the malchai hashores weep for klal yisroel.
