Bloomberg discussed the issue on his weekly WOR Radio show Friday. A day earlier, he said New York City plans to stop booking and arraigning many people arrested on low-level marijuana-possession charges.

He’s right marijuana is much stronger today then it was in the 60’s and can lead to paranoia and other psychotic illnesses. Unfortanely the attitude from some people in the Orthodox community is “b’h it’s only weed” or “don’t worry it’s not addictive”.

Mr. Bloomberg thinks that since he was elected Mayor, he is now the nanny of it’s citizens.
The same reason that allows him to ban drugs allows him to ban smoking and soft drinks. Which is the same reason that he should be allowed to ban other foods that he thinks are not healthy. Foods that have too much sugar or too much salt, or anything else that he feels is unhealthy.
This is what happens when we give the government too much power, they start to lock up people who use substances that they don’t approve of, and most Americans don’t either, then they move to the next thing.
The solution is to take that power away from government and not allow them to ban anything, and responsible adults should be allowed to make their own decisions for themselves as long as they don’t hurt others.
Like Martin Niemoeller said: “First they came for the Communists…”

Good to hear that the sensibility of Mr. Bloomberg is in the heavens and not in the squalor.

It must be great to have a specialized type of mouth that can be spoken through out of both sides. I wonder how much Bloomy paid for his.
