REHOVOT (VINnews) — Pictures taken Sunday capture the atmosphere in the Kretchniff Talmud Torah in Rehovot as children returned to their classroom studies in the past week wearing masks and practicing social distancing where possible. Some Yeshivas have also returned to their studies but Rabbi Gershon Edelstein has not yet permitted the Bnei Brak-based Ponovezh yeshiva to reopen.

We need to open schools here in the USa as well. NO ifs ands or buts.
The yeshivas and even bais yaakov’s have become our essential. When we are 3 our fathers carry us on their shoulders and dance to cheder. Its the essence and fabric of who we are. Eraly childhood education is so crucial for our chids development how can we just let it go by and wither? They will never get it back. And yes rabbeim are trained and equipped to motivate children far more than us parents. Thats why we pay so much for it. (Yes for the economy to reopen we need it to).
Now lets state a few facts and I repeat facts
1) The curve is at near zero for our community for over a month
2) 75% of us got it already
3) Kids do not transmit the disease. Sholomo can hack achink that kids are “carriers” But ts a proven fact that they don’t transmit it. ” Emily Oster, economics professor at Brown University, author of several books and creator of the website COVID-Explained”
4) 95% of children are NOT social distancing now anyhow.
5) The risk of dying to healthy under 60 year olds is maybe 1 in 10,000.
6) You’d open via clusters and string monitoring to mitigate risk
Combine this all together and ask yourself why are schools not open? Israel understood how essential it is. Why don’t we? We need to fight advocate, sue and resist any more tempts at blocking schools from reopening. Its crzay and needs to stop. Enough is enough
