JERUSALEM (VINnews/Sandy Eller) – For the second time in two days, a prominent Israeli rabbi has publicly lamented the lack of adherence to health guidelines amidst the ongoing pandemic.

As previously reported on VIN News , a letter published by Rabbi Asher Weiss on October 13th said that the Torah requires us to heed medical guidance to safeguard our lives, and our failure to do so has brought shame on our communities and resulted in loss of life. Further strengthening those statements were the words of the Grand Rabbi of Karlin Stolin, Rabbi Baruch Meir Yaakov Shochet, who addressed his followers in a phone call today, as reported by Kikar HaShabat (https://bit.ly/3jUut0a).
“I understand that it is difficult to be in a constant state of vigilance, but this is something we are obligated to do,” said Rabbi Shochet, who recently recovered from coronavirus. “It is G-d’s will and we should celebrate the opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah of preserving our health.”
Rabbi Shochet expressed dismay at individuals and even prominent members of the Jewish world who have been less than careful about matters of health, potentially endangering the lives of others and causing others pain and suffering.
“I am amazed that the Charedi community is showing such blatant disregard for the lives of others,” continued Rabbi Shochet. “What has happened to us? How did we get here? In the name of G-d, we cannot be lax in any way. This is not a children’s game – this is a life threatening matter of the highest importance.”

Hey. Here is a wild crazy idea. I know it’s out of the box but give a listen. EVERY PERSON SHOULD FOLLOW HIS RAV OR MOREH DERECH JUST LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES!!! Why is it necessary to publish what this Rebbe, Rosh Yeshiva, School Principal, Councilman, etc… has to say on this issue or any other issue? Are people that disconnected and stupid that they have to log on to the internet to get their hadracha? I mean, seriously?
No, no. Golda aka Archy said everyone needs to get it and if you die you were obviously meant to go anyways so who cares.

we salute leaders that say what WE WANT them to say. as a recent example when the ” bobovitcher rav” wore a mask he was hailed a hero .. a leader.. and then a few days later tested positive .. and then feered hakofos bifnei a gepakte beis medrash .. all of the sudden he becomes a whole bunch of bad words
my point is thats not following a leader
It’s very unfortunate that some people get Covid-19.
But 85 percent of those who get Covid-19, were all following the health guidelines 100. Percent of the time and they got covid-19 anyway.
The other 15 percent followed the health guidelines most of the time and got it anyway.
And the Rabbi in the photo, obviously isn’t wearing a mask himself!
It’s like ‘a Drowning person’ trying not to drown, “grabs on to a straw” to try to save himself.
Nice try…
But it doesn’t work, at all, whatsoever, unfortunately.

So how did he get covid if he did everything right?
