Rabbi Chaim Yitzchok Eizik Landa, Rabbi Shevach Zvi Rosenblatt and Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon also condemned the practice of exploding firecrackers and acting immodestly.

The rabbis wrote” “We call on parents and educators to warn their daughters not to go out on the streets on the night of Purim. A woman’s honor is in her home and they can fulfill the aspect of simcha in their homes, each family by itself. We also request of pupils and yeshiva students to maintain the simcha of Purim which is a simcha in performing mitzvos and not to turn it into debauchery G-d forbid, and to maintain the rules of modesty.”

The rabbis added that “milling around on streets and street corners is the way of those who exploit the time of joy for wildness and licentiousness and it is a disgrace to be seen in such surroundings. We must eradicate this scourge from our streets. We must also maintain the honor of Heaven and not get dragged into conflicts with those who are in charge of maintaining order and protecting the public.”

The rabbis also said that it is “severely prohibited to sell or use any firecrackers. The usage has in the past caused tragedies and those involved are endangering lives. Whoever sees a sale of setting off of such firecrackers is obligated by the Torah to inform the municipal hotline as “One may not stand by when one’s friend is in danger.’
