Whether you like it or not, most children are not born with personality traits like confidence, patience, and strength. While these adjectives are words any parent would be overjoyed using to describe their child, these traits typically don’t appear on their own. That is why it is so important to start filling your child’s ears with positivity as soon as they are born. Many people do this by way of repeating mantras to their young children. What is a mantra? A mantra is the repetition of a motivating statement or phrase. For example, take the American folktale, The Little Engine That Could, about the locomotive that shows the power of positive thinking. The little locomotive jumps in front of the great heavy train, repeating the phrase, “I think I can. I think I can.” That was the locomotive’s mantra to motivate himself just to keep going and trying to make it to the top of the mountain. And with that mantra, he did it! This same technique is one parents should use with their children.

Many children suffer from low self-esteem and are not comfortable expressing themselves, which is so unfortunate. Children feel as though they can’t be themselves because of the fear of not being accepted. Instilling mantras in your child at a young age can boost their confidence, making them more comfortable in their own skin. Even putting your little ones in clothing that has positive mantras can increase their self-worth, which is why we adore shine leggings. Shine leggings have several pairs of leggings for your little ones that include mantras we love. So let’s get to those mantras, shall we?

1. Believe, Fight, Love, Hope

This is one mantra that can be applied to many different situations. This mantra is one for happiness, well-being, and strength, and who wouldn’t want their child to exhibit those feelings about themselves? And these words can be interpreted and used by your child in so many different ways. Believe in yourself, fight for what you want, love with everything you’ve got, and hope for good. Or believe it can happen, fight hard, love those around you, and hope for the best. Naturally, the shine leggings that include this mantra also have a white ribbon for cancer awareness. What a beautiful mantra of hope to instill in your child and a wonderful message to share to those around you.

2. I Am Friendly, I Am Loved

The mantra I am friendly, I am loved is a great one that you can start to teach your child at a very young age. In times when they may be scared or unsure like when going to their very first day of school or starting at a new daycare, can remind them that they are a friendly person, and they are loved by their family so much. That alone is enough to put a smile on any child’s face. This mantra can be matched with a pair of shine leggings that are covered in holographic hearts or smiley faces to remind them that they are friendly and loved all day long. This will remind them of their mantra and what they need to remember when they are scared or nervous – that they are friendly and loved.

3. I Am Unique

While every parent knows their little one is unique and special, they may not always feel that way. In those moments of uncertainty, the mantra of I am unique will remind them of who they are and what exceptional qualities they have to offer the world. This mantra could be paired with the shine leggings that have multi-colored butterflies. Butterflies are very unique insects in that they all have different patterns on their wings. You will never see two butterflies that are exactly the same, just like your child will never find another person who is the same as them.

4. I Have A Beautiful Imagination

What a powerful mantra to offer your little ones! Teaching your child that their imagination is something that should be shared and cherished is definitely one for the books. No one should ever feel ashamed or embarrassed for having a wild imagination. If this message can be infused into a child at a young age, they will surely grow into a confident, expressive person. This mantra can be represented by almost any pair of shine leggings, as they are all beautiful, different, and have a unique sheen and sparkle.

While many of these mantras are a great place to start, they should definitely not be the extent of the mantras you teach your little ones. As your child grows older and wiser, the mantras should also grow in maturity. And while they may seem silly at first, this small task could have a significant impact on the person your child becomes in the future.
