Two policemen were injured in the attack, one by the terrorist and another from ricochets from the bullets fired at him. The two policemen were evacuated to hospital via the Western Wall plaza.

Police stated that “a short time ago a police report was received about a terrorist who had tried to stab policemen in the Muslim quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. The terrorist was neutralized and police forces were summoned to the scene.”

MDA said that “we received a report about a stabbing victim near the Iron Gate in the Muslim quarter who had been brought to the Western Wall plaza for treatment. MDA paramedics and medics treated and evacuated a fully conscious 30-year-old man in light to moderate condition. Another 25-year-old man with light leg injuries was treated on site.”

MK Itamar Ben-Gvir responded to the attack, stating that “the waning moments of the Gantz-Lapid government ended with another stabbing attack. It’s time to restore security to the streets, time to make order here, time to show who the boss is, time to ensure that terrorists who try to perpetrate attacks will be eliminated. I send best wishes for recovery and pray for the welfare of the injured policemen.” [email protected].
