NEW YORK (VINnews) — A Tiktok snack craze involving Fruit Roll-Ups has led to steep demand for the snacks as well as a predictable hike in prices. The demand has even transcended borders, leading people to try and cash in by selling the product in countries where it is less available.

The viral TikTok trend involves freezing the snack slightly to obtain a crunchy aspect and adding a filling, generally ice-cream, to the confection.
Using ice cream means that the Fruit Roll-Up does not need a significant time in the freezer to be crunchy, and the idea of mixing the two sweet desserts has captured the imagination of millions. Despite one viewer stating that “just the sound by itself makes my teeth hurt, the general consensus among those who tried it was that “My teeth say no, but my heart says yes.”

An American couple entering Israel was recently caught trying to smuggle 375 pounds of Fruit Roll Ups into Israel after the prices skyrocketed due to the Tiktok trend. Customs officers were not persuaded that such a large amount could be used for personal use and confiscated the entire amount.
If a regular suitcase allowance is approx 45lbs, it means they were bringing in 8 suitcases of Fruit roll ups!
Make sure the Customs officials are not selling them…
How stupid!!!!
I hope they didnt throw them in the trash
