JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Former Shin Bet head Nadav Argaman referred in an army radio interview to the judicial reforms, sharply criticizing them. Argaman even justified the widespread refusal to serve in the IDF reserves if the government continues to promote the reforms.

Although other heads of the Shin Bet have expressed public reservations for the judicial reforms, Argaman is a former appointee of Netanyahu who was very close to the prime minister during his tenure  as Shin Bet head from 2016-2021. Thus his condemnation of the judicial reforms is particularly trying for the premier.

Argaman said that “If this terrible legislation will pass, we are another country and we do not have to uphold the contract that was signed with us.”

Argaman added that those refusing to serve should not be held responsible. “This is a different reality, different from the disengagement or anything else. We’re talking about a change of regime in Israel, so ceasing to volunteer (for reserve duty) is appropriate.”

Absorption Minister Ofir Sofer attacked Argaman’s statements: “I speak from the depths of my heart as one who commanded soldiers. I was seriously injured but returned to my command after rehabilitation. I opposed the Oslo process but never dared to refuse to serve and certainly did not express support for such refusal, despite seeing the tragedy of Oslo with my own eyes. Bringing the IDF into the political debate will create decades of damage. What is the message of the former Shin Bet chief to the heads of the IDF when he expresses himself in this manner?

All of these leftists are only concerned that religion will have a firm standing in Israel, that’s the real underlying issue.

The Shin Bet actively encouraged the protests, so this is not surprising. But it is terrifying to realize that citizens have zero say in Israel

Here’s another brilliant liberal who can’t think or see past the tip of his nose. Is the purpose of the IDF to protect the judicial system Israel, or is its purpose perhaps to keep the land of Israel safe? All of Israel, not just the Chareidim, and not just the secular left. Who gets hurt if the reservists quit, the Chareidim? The conservative justices? No, Mr. Argaman, EVERYONE is impacted, even you! You think we’re playing house here? We’re dealing with aggressive enemies, who are murdering our people, your people, Israeli people. Political statements have never stopped a bullet before, and they won’t now.

Your previous position as head of Shin Bet does not give you any more standing that former PM Barak (Epstein pervert) or Olmert crook that got got out of jail too early.
